Removal Procedure
- Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to «Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement»(/buick/rendezvous/i-2001-2007/remont/testing-diagnostics/#engine-controls-34l-introduction-service-replacement) in Engine Controls-3.4L.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to «Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement»(/buick/rendezvous/i-2001-2007/remont/testing-diagnostics/#engine-controls-34l-introduction-service-replacement) in Engine Controls-3.4L.
- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the retaining clip from the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(/buick/rendezvous/i-2001-2007/remont/hoistjack/#general-information__lifting-and-jacking-the-vehicle) in General Information.
- Use a large flat-bladed tool in order to remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the cable lever.
- Use pliers in order to depress the cable retainers.
- Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the automatic transaxle range selector cable bracket.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to «Knee Bolster Replacement»(/buick/rendezvous/i-2001-2007/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#instrument-panel-system-displays-gauges-and-console) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a console shift, perform the following steps: Remove the console trim plate. Refer to «Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (Aztek)»(/buick/rendezvous/i-2001-2007/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#instrument-panel-system-displays-gauges-and-console) or «Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (Rendezvous)»(/buick/rendezvous/i-2001-2007/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#instrument-panel-system-displays-gauges-and-console) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console. Remove the transaxle shift cable from the floor shift control.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a column shift, perform the following steps: Remove the retaining clip from the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the column control lever. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the steering column bracket.
- Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the cowl.
