Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Buick Regal III

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) can be adjusted using scan tester or following procedure.

  1. Ensure engine is at normal operating temperature. Install 3 jumper wires between TPS and TPS wiring harness connector.
  2. Turn ignition on with engine off. Connect DVOM to Dark Blue and Black wire terminals. With throttle at closed position, adjust TPS to obtain specified voltage. See «TPS ADJUSTMENT VOLTAGE»(ref-10356-S21442201942000110900000) below.
  3. Tighten screws, and recheck readings. Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wires, and reconnect harness connector to TPS.

(1) Voltage range is from idle position to wide open throttle position. (2) Not adjustable. (3) Mid-operating range should be .38-.42 volt when adjusting TPS with throttle closed.
