DESCRIPTION

WARNINGVehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article.
CAUTIONWhen battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See appropriate COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. Obtain radio code card from customer. Note stored stations and restore them after connecting battery. Stored settings of on-board computer and clock will also be lost. All available central keys must be recoded for cars with first generation infrared transmitter locking systems.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

For location of engine compartment fuse holder A6009 (in Integrated Supply Module) (Scheme 24)

Engine compartment fuses are protection for

  1. F001: 30A - Fuel injectors (5-8), Variable valve timing gear control unit, DME control unit.
  2. F002: 20A - Charcoal filter valve, Camshaft sensor (inlet), Camshaft sensor (exhaust), VANOS intake solenoid valve (cyl.bank 2), VANOS exhaust solenoid valve (cyl.bank 2).
  3. F003: 20A - Ignition coils (1-4).
  4. F004: 20A - Ignition coils (5-8).
  5. F005: 30A - Crankshaft sensor, Hot-film air mass meter, Camshaft sensor (inlet), Camshaft sensor (exhaust), Characteristic map (cooling), VANOS intake solenoid valve (cyl.bank 1), VANOS exhaust solenoid valve (cyl.bank 1).
  6. F006: 20A - Fuel injectors (1-4).
  7. F007: 20A - Transmission control.
  8. F008: 30A - Heated oxygen sensors, Oil quality sensor.
  9. F009: 10A - Fuse 51 (in front fuse holder A46 in passenger compartment), Fuel pump relay 1.
  10. F010: 40A - Variable valve timing gear control unit
  11. F011: 40A - Variable valve timing gear control unit.

Battery Supply Distribution Fuses

Battery supply distribution fuse panel is located in luggage compartment, on the left. (Scheme 33)

Battery supply distribution fuses are protection for

  1. F200: 200A - Passenger compartment fuse carrier A46.
  2. F201: 50A - Trailer module (AHM)
  3. F202: 80A - Luggage compartment fuse carrier fuses (F83-F87)
  4. F203: 100A - DDE relay
  5. F204: 50A - Air suspension compressor relay
  6. F205: 40A - Transfer box control unit
  7. F206: 80A - Luggage compartment fuse carrier fuses (F77-F81)
  8. F207: 80A - Luggage compartment fuse carrier fuses (F72-F75)
