Wiper Arms
On 2-door models, adjust wiper arms so center of blade is 1.57" (40 mm) above lower edge of windshield. On 4-door models, adjust wiper arms so center of blade is 1.97" (50 mm) above lower edge of windshield.
WIPER MOTOR
- Remove heater blower motor and bracket. Disconnect wiper motor connectors. Remove crank nut from motor shaft. Remove crank and linkage. Remove mounting nuts and motor.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Connect and run motor. Turn wiper off to obtain park position. Install motor with crank in extended position. (Scheme 1) To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

WIPER RELAYS & CONTROLS
Remove panel under left side of instrument panel. Locate and remove wiper relay or wiper motor relay from relay block. To install, reverse removal procedures.
WIPER SWITCH
| WARNING | On vehicles with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), use extreme caution when working around steering wheel or column. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without disconnecting SRS control unit, as system may activate. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in SAFETY EQUIPMENT. |
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air bag/steering wheel assembly. See «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-13054) article in SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
- Remove lower left dashboard trim. Remove screws and steering column lower trim. Remove steering column upper trim. Remove screws, ground wire and wiper switch.
- Detach wire straps, and disconnect wiring for wiper switch. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure ground wire is attached to wiper switch.
