Checking switch
- Remove driver's side storage compartment
Refer to 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT ; storage compartment/paneling; removing storage bin on driver's side
- Disconnect harness connector at clutch vacuum vent valve switch.
- Connect multimeter between terminal 2 and 3 for resistance measurement.
- Specified value: approx. 0 ohms
- Depress clutch pedal.
- Specified value: infinity ohms (no continuity)
If specified value is not obtained
- Replace clutch vacuum vent valve switch.
If specified value is obtained
- Check voltage supply.
- Connect VAG1527B voltage tester as follows

- Switch ignition on.
- LED must light up
If LED does not light up
- Check wiring connection from terminal 2 of connector to fuse for open circuit
Refer to Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component Locations
- Repair open circuit in wiring if necessary.
If LED lights up
- Check activation.
- Connect VAG1598/31 test box at wiring harness to Engine Control Module (ECM) but do not connect ECM: Refer to «Wire and component test using VAG1598/31 test box»(ref-276273-S08956842022008010300000) .
- Check following wiring connection for open circuit and short circuit to Ground (GND) and B+

- Repair open circuit in wiring or short circuit if necessary.
