Checking switch Audi TT 8N facelift

Checking switch

  1. Remove driver's side storage compartment

Refer to 68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT ; storage compartment/paneling; removing storage bin on driver's side

  1. Disconnect harness connector at clutch vacuum vent valve switch.
  1. Connect multimeter between terminal 2 and 3 for resistance measurement.
  1. Specified value: approx. 0 ohms
  1. Depress clutch pedal.
  1. Specified value: infinity ohms (no continuity)

If specified value is not obtained

  1. Replace clutch vacuum vent valve switch.

If specified value is obtained

  1. Check voltage supply.
  1. Connect VAG1527B voltage tester as follows

  1. Switch ignition on.
  1. LED must light up

If LED does not light up

  1. Check wiring connection from terminal 2 of connector to fuse for open circuit

Refer to Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component Locations

  1. Repair open circuit in wiring if necessary.

If LED lights up

  1. Check activation.
  1. Connect VAG1598/31 test box at wiring harness to Engine Control Module (ECM) but do not connect ECM: Refer to «Wire and component test using VAG1598/31 test box»(ref-276273-S08956842022008010300000) .
  1. Check following wiring connection for open circuit and short circuit to Ground (GND) and B+

  1. Repair open circuit in wiring or short circuit if necessary.
