In-tank wire routing, assembly overview

Note. The illustration shows the ideal routing of the lines on the inside of the fuel tank. With exception of the line position --> Installed location of fuel delivery lines , exact routing of the lines is not required, although you must be generally aware of clearance between components and of preventing rattling noises. - Arrow - points in direction of travel.

  1. The delivery lines - 1 - and - 3 - must be routed under \ fuel filler line - 2 - in \ area of \ left fuel tank opening.

  1. With Transfer Fuel Pump (FP) G6
  2. Clipped into mount - 1
  3. Different versions

4 - Fuel delivery line

  1. From suction jet pump, right side
  2. Clipped onto fuel delivery unit - 3

5 - Fuel supply line

  1. The connection is located on right side of fuel tank
  2. To disconnect, press release button on connection piece

6 - Fuel return line

  1. The connection is located on right side of fuel tank
  2. To disconnect, press release button on connection piece

7 - Locking ring

  1. Use wrench T10202 for removal and installation
  2. Tighten to 120 Nm

8 - Left locking flange

  1. Installed location --> «Installed location of left locking flange»(ref-289201-S09243504002008071700000)

9 - Seal

  1. Replace
  2. Install dry

10 - Fuel Level Sensor 3 G237

  1. Gray
  2. Clipped onto fuel delivery unit - 3
  3. Resistance values, checking --> «Fuel Level Sensor 3 G237 , checking (left tubular sensor)»(ref-289201-S42807097702008062700000)
  4. Removing and installing --> «Fuel Level Sensor 3 G237 (left tubular sensor), removing and installing»(ref-289201-S42064210972008062700000)

  1. Install new locking flange seal dry.
  2. Insert locking flange in fuel tank, note installation position
  1. Tab - 2 - on locking flange must lie between tabs - 1 - and - 3 - on fuel tank.

  1. Fuel Pump (FP) 2 Relay J49 O.K. (on relay and fuse panel in right of luggage compartment, Socket 3).
  2. Battery voltage min. 12.5 V
  3. Fuel filter OK.
  4. Ignition switched off.

Accelerator pedal mechanism, assembly overview

Note. On vehicles with automatic transmissions, a separate Kick Down Switch F8 is installed. Kick down switch F8 , removing and installing --> Kick down switch F8 , removing and installing .
