Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor, Checking

Note. The Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor G93 is a component of the Mechatronic unit in the transmission and cannot be serviced individually.

Requirements

1. The battery voltage must be at least 12.5 Volts.
2. All electrical consumers must be switched off.
3. The parking brake must be engaged.
4. The elector lever must be in the "P" position.

1. The Ground (GND) connections to transmission must be OK.

Test sequence

1. Disconnect the Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 electrical harness connector - direction of the arrow -.
2. Observe safety precautions.
3. Check the electrical harness connector for contact corrosion and ingress of water.

If the electrical harness connector is not OK

1. Repair the malfunction.

If the electrical harness connector is OK

1. Check the wiring according to the wiring diagram

If no malfunctions are found in the wiring

1. Replace the Mechatronic unit in the transmission: --> «38 - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GEARS, HYDRAULIC CONTROLS»(ref-289214-S39223439432008062700000) for 6 SPD. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 09E ALL WHEEL DRIVE or «38 - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GEARS, HYDRAULIC CONTROLS»(ref-289215-S02515359162008062700000) for 6 SPD. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 09L ALL WHEEL DRIVE .

Final procedures

1. Check the DTC memory.
2. If necessary, erase the DTC memory. Refer to «Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory»(ref-289210-S36411770032008062700000) .
3. If the DTC memory was erased, generate readiness code. Refer to «Readiness Code»(ref-289210-S07226527872008062700000) .
