1 - Self-locking bolt

  1. Torque specification, 12 Nm

2 - Electromechanical parking brake actuator

  1. Electromechanical parking brake control module, removing and installing --> «Electromechanical parking brake, removing and installing»(ref-289218-S12908891422008062700000)
  2. Actuator, removing and installing --> «Electromechanical parking brake actuator, removing and installing»(ref-289218-S14893865352008062700000)

3 - Self-locking bolt

  1. Torque specification, 35 Nm
  2. Always replace
  3. When loosening and tightening, counter-hold at guide pin

4 - Brake caliper housing

  1. Do not remove brake hose when replacing brake pad
  2. Brake caliper, servicing --> «Rear brake caliper piston, removing and installing»(ref-289218-S25510587882008062700000)

5 - Brake pads

  1. Must always be replaced together on both sides of axle
  2. Removing and installing --> «Brake pads, removing and installing»(ref-289218-S40476756472008062700000)
  3. Checking brake pad thickness: 8E

6 - Anti-rattle spring

  1. Always replace when pads are replaced

7 - Brake disc

  1. Must always be replaced together on both sides of axle
  2. Remove brake caliper before removing
  3. Only tighten evenly on both sides based on thickness in new condition --> «Brakes»(ref-289218-S14139172632008062700000)
  4. Brake disc allocation --> «Brakes»(ref-289218-S14139172632008062700000)

8 - Ribbed bolt

  1. Torque specification, 140 Nm
  2. M12x1.5 x 75
  3. Always replace
  4. To tighten lower connection, adjust Torque Wrench V.A.G 1332 to 125 Nm. This torque specification applies only in conjunction with Interchangeable Head T40036.

9 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective cap

  1. Supplied as pre-assembled replacement part with sufficient grease on guide pins
  2. If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, install repair kit. Use grease packet supplied to lubricate guide pins

10 - Brake line

  1. Torque specification 14 Nm
  2. Do not disconnect brake line when changing brake pads

11 - Retaining spring

  1. Ensure retaining tab is seated correctly in bracket.
