Sunroof, performing initialization and learning phase

1. Switch on ignition.

Start initialization

1. Turn sunroof switch to "roof closed" position and wait until roof is closed.
2. Pull switch down and wait until a soft ratcheting sound of the wind deflector motor can be heard.
3. This completes the initialization.

Start learning phase

Note. Learning phase for roof system must be performed so that a defined pinch protection is guaranteed.

1. Close sunroof from lift or slide position (switch is in closed position and is continuously pulled).
2. Release the switch (after hearing a click from the back of the sun roof drive) and pull again till a rattling noise can be heard (from front deflector motor).
3. Release switch while the motor still rattles, immediately pull the switch again and hold.
4. After the ratcheting noise stops, the initialization starts.

1. Hold the switch until all positions (sliding position fully open/closed/lift position fully open/closed) have been performed and the resistance values stored.
2. Operate the sunroof through its full range of functions in order to verify functionality.
3. Perform learning phase completely.
4. During this, sunroof opens completely toward rear, closes again, sunroof cover opens and closes again.

1. Now, system has been initialized and learning phase performed.
2. Pinch protection is active and system is ready for operation.
