Installation
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Always use NEW nuts and bolts. Torque fasteners to specification. Bolted connections in rubber bushings should only be torqued to specification once vehicle is resting on its own weight. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(/audi/s6/c5-1999-2004/remont/suspension-rear/#suspension-rear-awd__torque-specifications) .
- After installation, position of steering wheel must be checked with a road test. If the steering wheel is crooked, an axle alignment must be performed! Check wheel alignment after servicing. See «PROCEDURES & SPECIFICATIONS»(/audi/s6/c5-1999-2004/remont/wheel-alignment/#specifications-procedures) article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.

- To replace crossmember bonded rubber bushings (Scheme 10)and. When pressing bushing in, position bonded rubber bushing so that one of the rubber knobs (1) is opposite the marking (arrow). (Scheme 10)
- Before removing bonded rubber bushing for final drive transmission support, use a felt-tip pen to mark installation position on transmission support (arrow A). (Scheme 12)
- To replace bonded rubber bushing for final drive transmission support (Scheme 13)and (Scheme 13). When installing bushing, position bonded rubber bushing so that one of the rubber knobs (arrow B) is opposite the marking (arrow A). (Scheme 10)
