  1. Trim Removal Wedge 3409

Scheme 285: REMOVING

Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

Turn the light switch into the "0" position.

Pry the instrument panel side cover -1- up using the 3409 -arrow- and remove it.

Open the clip -arrow A- and move fuse panel C -2- in the -direction of arrow B- on the instrument panel central tube -1-.

Reach through the opening on the side of the instrument panel and push the light switch -1- toward the rear and out of the instrument panel cover on the driver side -arrow-.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Press the button unit into the switch housing until the lock mechanism engages.

Remove the glove compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Disconnect the electrical connector -2-.

Release the retaining clips -A arrows- and press the trim -3- for the valet parking lock button -item 1- forward and out -arrow B-.

Carefully release the retaining clips -arrows- with a small screwdriver.

Remove the valet parking lock button -item 1- forward from the trim -2-.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Install the glove compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .

With Lane Assist

Unclip the top cover -1- on the mirror base -arrows-.

Disengage the bottom cover on the mirror base using a screwdriver and remove it.

Without Lane Assist

Pry the top cover -1- from the interior rearview mirror base -arrows-.

Continuation for All

Remove the electrical connector -2- and disconnect it.

Turn the interior rearview mirror on the base -1- counterclockwise -arrow- as far as the stop.

Remove the interior mirror from the holding plate.

Spread the cover -1- apart slightly on both sides -arrows- and remove it from the interior rearview mirror base -2-.

Disconnect the electrical connector -2-.

Using a small screwdriver -3-, carefully press the humidity sensor -item 4- off the cover -1- -arrow- and remove it upward.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following

Carefully place the humidity sensor in the side guides.

Note. The cover cannot be installed if the humidity sensor is not inserted correctly.

Install the interior rearview mirror. Refer to Removal and Installation .
