Removing

  1. In vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module J526 --> «Service mode, activating/deactivating»(/audi/s4/b7-2004-2008/remont/accessories-control-systems/#communication__service-mode-activatingdeactivating) service mode.
  2. Disconnect battery ground wire --> - «27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL»(/audi/s4/b7-2004-2008/remont/cruise-control-systems/#electrical-equipment) .
  3. Follow safety precautions for airbag systems --> - «69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS»(/audi/s4/b7-2004-2008/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior) .
  4. Remove drivers airbag --> - «69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS»(/audi/s4/b7-2004-2008/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior) .

  1. Disconnect harness connector - 1 - at button - 2 -.
  2. Slide button - 2 - out of steering wheel in direction of arrow.
  3. Turn the button around.

  1. Disconnect harness connector - 2 - to Tiptronic switch at multi-function button - 1 - and remove it.

Installing

  1. Install in reverse order.

Removing and installing the left multi-function button is identical.
