- Brake Pedal Actuator V.A.G 1869/2
- Insert Tool T10212
- Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131
Removing
Note. If the subframe is replaced, axle alignment should be performed after installation. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT . Only if subframe is replaced: level control system sensor --, removing and installing. Refer to VEHICLE LEVEL SENSOR .
With vehicles with air suspension, place vehicle on hoist. Refer to POSITIONING VEHICLE ON HOIST AND WHEELS .
Remove wheels.
Remove rear portion of exhaust system. Refer to [For engine(s) BAR] Description and Operation or [For engine(s) BHK] Description and Operation or [For engine(s) CATA] Description and Operation or [For engine(s) CJWC, CJWB, CJWE] Description and Operation .
Disconnect all electrical wires from body to rear axle.
Vehicles with Air Suspension
Clean area around wiring connection.
Remove left air supply line and seal off connections. Make sure that no dust particles enter connections.

Continuation for All Vehicles
Remove brake cable from rear axle. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Remove driveshaft from rear final drive and tie up. Refer to [For engine(s) CATA, CJWC, CJWB, CJWE] Removal and Installation .
Remove left and right brake caliper -1- and tie it with an wire -2- at brake line bracket -3-.

If equipped, remove stone impact protection from subframe.
| WARNING | Before loosening subframe bolts, secure vehicle against tipping over (for example load luggage compartment with approximately 50 kg). |
Attach both Supports VAS 6131/13-1 and VAS 6131/13-2 from Basic Set VAS 6131/13 on Scissor Lift Table VAS 6131.

Support subframe with VAS 6131.
Scheme 33
Support rear of the subframe so that front screw from stabilizer bar bracket is located in center of mount VAS 6131/13-2 -arrow-.
Mark position of crossmember on body using felt-tip pen.
Remove left and right bolts -arrows- from crossmember.

Secure subframe, refer to SUBFRAME, SECURING .
Remove bolts -arrows- for subframe.
Scheme 35
Lower scissor raise table slightly and remove breather line from final drive breather tube.
Slowly lower subframe.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following
Adjust parking brake. Refer to Diagnosis and Testing .
On vehicles with air suspension, position vehicle on wheels. Refer to POSITIONING VEHICLE ON HOIST AND WHEELS .
Tighten the wheels. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .
Why an axle alignment is necessary. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT .
On vehicles with automatic headlamp range control system, perform a basic setting on the headlamps. Refer to [For engine(s) CATA, BHK, CJWC, CJWB, BAR] Diagnosis and Testing .
