STEERING COLUMN ELECTRONICS CONTROL MODULE -J527
If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" of the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing & Information System VAS5051B.
Removing
Remove the steering column switch module. Refer to STEERING COLUMN SWITCH MODULE .
Note. Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing coil connector with slip ring.
Carefully release catches -arrows-.
Remove airbag spring/spiral spring with slip ring -2- with Steering Angle Sensor -G85- -item 1- from steering column switch module.
Remove screws -arrows- and remove steering column electronics control module -item 1- from steering column switch module.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following
Make sure all fasteners and electrical connectors are properly engaged.
Install the steering column switch module. Refer to STEERING COLUMN SWITCH MODULE .
Code the steering column electronics control module with the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing & Information System VAS5051B if it was replaced.
