MANUAL TRANSAXLE APPLICATIONS
SERVICE INTERVALS
Check transaxle lubricant level when vehicle is serviced. Under normal operating conditions, manufacturer does not require periodic lubricant changes.
CHECKING FLUID LEVEL
Check fluid level at fill hole with vehicle level. Lubricant should be slightly below bottom of fill hole.
RECOMMENDED FLUID
Use G-50 synthetic gear oil (SAE 75W-90).

- Place gearshift lever in Neutral. Remove shift knob, boot retaining screw and boot. Loosen shift rod retaining bolt on bottom of shift lever. (Scheme 3) Position gearshift lever as close to Neutral as possible.
- Align shift lever so both lugs (left and right sides) on ball stop are same distance from ball housing. (Scheme 4)
- Ensure lever does not move and tighten bolt. Check shifter for smooth travel into all gear positions. Ensure reverse safety catch is effective (if equipped). If reverse safety catch does not catch, loosen ball housing screws and turn ball housing slightly. Check reverse safety catch operation. Install boot and shift knob.
