- Spark plug removal tool 3122 B

Test conditions
- Engine oil temperature at least 30°C
- Battery voltage at least 12.7 V
Test sequence
- Remove engine cover - 1 - and - 2 - upward.
- Remove hose - 1 -.
- Disconnect hose - 1 -.
- Unclip hose - 2 -.
- Remove air intake tube - arrows -.
- Disconnect connectors of fuel injectors - 2 -.
- Remove ignition coils --> «28 IGNITION/GLOW PLUG SYSTEM»(ref-289207-S14797742152008062700000) .
- Using spark plug removal tool 3122 B , remove spark plugs.
- Open throttle valve completely.
- Check compression pressure using the compression tester V.A.G 1763.
Note. Using tester operating instructions.
- Operate starter until tester shows no further pressure increase.

The following work step must be performed after engine compression test.
- Query fault memory and erase, if necessary.
Use Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 to do so.
