  1. Spark plug removal tool 3122 B

  1. Compression tester V.A.G 1763

Test conditions

  1. Engine oil temperature at least 30°C
  2. Battery voltage at least 12.7 V

Test sequence

  1. Remove engine cover - 1 - and - 2 - upward.
  1. Remove hose - 1 -.
  1. Disconnect hose - 1 -.
  2. Unclip hose - 2 -.
  3. Remove air intake tube - arrows -.
  1. Disconnect connectors of fuel injectors - 2 -.
  2. Remove ignition coils --> «28 IGNITION/GLOW PLUG SYSTEM»(ref-289207-S14797742152008062700000) .
  3. Using spark plug removal tool 3122 B , remove spark plugs.
  4. Open throttle valve completely.
  1. Check compression pressure using the compression tester V.A.G 1763.

Note. Using tester operating instructions.

  1. Operate starter until tester shows no further pressure increase.

The following work step must be performed after engine compression test.

  1. Query fault memory and erase, if necessary.

Use Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 to do so.
