Note. Before raising the vehicle on a hoist (wheels off the ground), first activate the vehicle jack mode --> 43 - SELF LEVELING SUSPENSION .

Work procedure

For vehicles with auxiliary heater

1. Remove bolts - arrows - for exhaust pipe of parking heater/auxiliary heater on noise insulation.

1. Remove front noise insulation - 1 -.
2. Remove front bumper --> «63 - BUMPERS»(/audi/a8/d3-2005-2007/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#body-exterior) .

Scheme 104

1. Remove bolt - arrow - on left and right.

Scheme 105

1. Remove bolts - 2 - on left and right.

Scheme 106

1. Install M8x90 bolt - 1 - , e.g. from support tool 3369 on left and right.

Scheme 107

1. Remove bolts - arrows - and pull lock carrier toward front.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following

Note. All cable ties which are opened or cut open when removing engine, must be replaced in the same position when installing engine.

1. Install lock carrier with attachments --> «50 - BODY - FRONT»(/audi/a8/d3-2005-2007/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#body-exterior) .
2. Install front bumper --> «63 - BUMPERS»(/audi/a8/d3-2005-2007/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#body-exterior) .
3. Adjust headlights --> «94 - LIGHTS, SWITCHES - EXTERIOR»(/audi/a8/d3-2005-2007/remont/cruise-control-systems/#electrical-equipment) .
