CAUTIONBefore beginning repairs on the electrical system: Obtain the anti-theft radio security code. Switch the ignition off. Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap. On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar(R), switch-off the emergency (back-up) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module prior to disconnecting vehicle battery. See EXAMPLE: SWITCH OFF EMERGENCY (BACK-UP) BATTERY . After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Manual and/or Owner's Manual. After reconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar(R), switch-on the emergency (back-up) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module. See EXAMPLE: SWITCH ON EMERGENCY (BACK-UP) BATTERY .

Contact Corrosion

To minimize contact corrosion, only use approved fasteners (screws, nuts, bolts, washers etc.)

  2. Wiper blade rubber is torn
  3. Wiper arm or blade is bent or loose
  4. Wiper blade is coated with wax or is no longer straight

If wiper blades are skipping and none of the causes listed apply, check and, if necessary, adjust the angle of the wiper arms relative to the windshield before installing new wiper blades.

Required special tools and equipment

  1. 3358 B windshield wiper adjuster

Checking wiper arm angle

  1. Bring wiper arms into park position.
  2. Remove wiper blade.
  3. Insert wiper arm -2- into windshield wiper adjuster 3358 B and secure with locking screw -3-.
  4. Compare indicated angle with specified value in table.
