Erase DTC Memory (Scan Tool Function 05)

  1. Check DTC memory. See «CHECK DTC MEMORY (FUNCTION 02)»(/audi/a8/d2-1994-1999/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#power-door-locks__check-dtc-memory-function-02) under RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES.
  2. Press buttons 0 and 5 to select "Erase DTC Memory" function 05 and press Q button to confirm input.
  3. Press right arrow button.
  4. If the tester is back in basic function, the "Erase DTC Memory" procedures are complete. However, if the display indicates "Attention ! DTC Memory was not interrogated", this indicates an error in the test sequence. Check DTC memory. If necessary repair malfunctions and erase DTC memory.
  5. Follow test sequence exactly: First check DTC memory and if necessary, repair malfunction and then erase. Perform End Output (Function 06) after erasing DTC memory. Switch ignition off and on again; check DTC memory again.
