1. Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A
2. Angle grinder

Preparation

Note. If the procedure described below is followed the center console does not have to be removed.

1. Using an angle grinder or similar, cut off Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A at rear end of flat section - arrow -.

1. Order a new Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A as a replacement for subsequent use.

Requirements for adjustment

1. Locking cable must be in installation position.
2. Selector lever is in position "P"
3. Ignition key is in removal position.

Procedure

1. Remove trim panel from center console --> «Selector mechanism cover, removing and installing»(/audi/a4/b7-2004-2009/remont/differentials-drive-axles/#6-speed-automatic-transmission-09l-all-wheel-drive__selector-mechanism-cover-removing-and-installing) .

Note. The selector lever handle and cover can remain installed.

1. Remove ashtray from center console --> «68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT»(/audi/a4/b7-2004-2009/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior) «68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT»(/audi/a4/b7-2004-2009/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior-cabriolet) for BODY INTERIOR - CABRIOLET .

Scheme 769

1. Loosen bolt - 1 -.

1. It should be possible to move support bracket - 2 - for locking cable by hand.

1. Insert modified Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A between pin on locking cable lever and locking cable eye.
2. Pull locking cable in direction of - arrow - as far as it will go and tighten bolt.

1. In this position it should be easy to remove and insert Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 3352 A.

1. Remove adjustment gauge.
2. Install ashtray in center console --> «68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT»(/audi/a4/b7-2004-2009/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior) «68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT»(/audi/a4/b7-2004-2009/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior-cabriolet) for BODY INTERIOR - CABRIOLET .
3. Always test ignition key removal lock after adjusting locking cable --> «Ignition key removal lock, checking»(/audi/a4/b7-2004-2009/remont/differentials-drive-axles/#6-speed-automatic-transmission-09l-all-wheel-drive__ignition-key-removal-lock-checking) .
