(1) To prevent overfilling, add approximately 1/2 qt. less than capacity. Start engine. Run until operating temperature is reached. Turn ignition off. Wait about 3 minutes. Check oil level. Fill to FULL mark on dipstick. Additional oil may be more or less than 1/2 quart. (2) Use fluid ESSO EGL 71141. Color is Yellow. DO NOT use additives. (3) Use fluid part No. G-052-162-A2. Color is Yellow/Gold. DO NOT use additives. (4) Fluid change capacity is up to 3.7 qts. if pan is removed. (5) DO NOT use Dexron ATF.

REPLACEMENT INTERVALS

ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT INSPECTION

Removing and installing accessory drive belt is an in-depth procedure. Visually inspect accessory drive belt while installed on engine. Ensure belt has no splits, cracks or other damage. If necessary to remove and replace accessory drive belt, see REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.

(1) Measuring primary resistance is normally not necessary. Measure between coil terminals No. 1 and 15 (on 3-pin connector, 2 outside terminals). (2) A high tension isolation diode is installed in secondary circuit of ignition coil. Measuring secondary coil resistance is not possible with conventional instruments. (3) Measuring primary resistance is not possible. (4) Measured between ignition coil towers, including spark plug cables and spark plug connectors. (5) Measured across ignition coil towers with spark plug wires and spark plug connectors removed.
