Power Mirror Defogger Auto Operation Function
When the outside air temperature is 41°F (5°C) or below and the ignition switch is turned to ON (II) or the vehicle is in ON mode, the left and right power mirror defoggers automatically turn on. The power mirror defogger auto operation function is controlled by the door multiplex control unit.

- When the door multiplex control unit receives a signal that the outside air temperature is 41°F (5°C) or below from the climate control unit, the door multiplex control unit automatically turns on the left and right power mirror defoggers within 10 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON (II) or the vehicle is in ON mode.
- Power mirror defogger output automatically stops in 10 minutes as a result of its timer.
- If the door multiplex control unit receives a rear window defogger/power mirror defogger switch input signal from the climate control unit during power mirror defogger output, the door multiplex control unit shuts off the auto operation function immediately.
- While the power mirror defogger auto operation function is operating, the rear window defogger does not automatically operate.
- The power mirror defogger auto operation function stops temporarily when any power window is operated during power mirror defogger output.

- Remove the door mirror cover (see «POWER MIRROR REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/mirrors/#mirrors__power-mirror-replacement) ).
- Disconnect the 16P connector (A) from the door mirror actuator (B).
- Check the actuator operation by connecting power and ground according to the table. LEFT Terminal 9 10 11 Position TILT UP (-) (+) TILT DOWN (+) (-) SWING LEFT (+) (-) SWING RIGHT (-) (+) RIGHT Terminal 9 10 11 Position TILT UP (-) (+) TILT DOWN (+) (-) SWING LEFT (-) (+) SWING RIGHT (+) (-)
- If the mirror fails to work properly, check for an open or high resistance in the wire between the connector and the mirror holder. If the wire is OK, replace the mirror actuator (see «POWER MIRROR ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/mirrors/#power-mirrors) ). Defogger Test
- Check for continuity between power mirror 16P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity.
- If there is no continuity, check for an open or high resistance in the wire between the connector and the mirror holder. If the wire is OK, replace the mirror holder (see «MIRROR HOLDER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/mirrors/#mirrors__mirror-holder-replacement) ).

- Remove the driver's outer dashboard trim (see «DRIVER'S OUTER DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard) ).
- Remove the multi switch (A) and disconnect the connectors (B).
- Remove the power mirror switch (A) from the multi switch (B).
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table. Power mirror switch
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the power mirror switch.
- Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove these items: Mirror holder (see «MIRROR HOLDER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/mirrors/#mirrors__mirror-holder-replacement) ) Power mirror (see «POWER MIRROR REPLACEMENT»(/acura/zdx/i-2009-2013/remont/mirrors/#mirrors__power-mirror-replacement) )
- Disconnect the power mirror 16P connector.
- Remove the gasket (A), then remove the two screws and connector from the mirror bracket (B).
- Remove the cover (C).
- Remove the three screws and the power mirror actuator (A), and disconnect the connectors (B).
- Remove the five screws (A), and separate the visor (B) from the actuator housing (C).
- Disconnect the side turn signal light 2P connector (A), and separate the housing (B) from the actuator housing (C).
- Remove the harness (D) from the actuator housing.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
- Operate the power mirror to ensure smooth operation.
