- Do the audio remote switch test. '04 model (see «'04 MODEL»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/entertainment-systems/#audio-system) ) '05-08 models (see «'05 AND '06-08 MODELS WITHOUT NAVIGATION»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/entertainment-systems/#audio-system) ) Is the audio remote switch OK? YES - Go to step 2. NO - Replace the audio remote switch.
- Remove the audio-HVAC display module (see «AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/entertainment-systems/#audio-system__audio-hvac-display-module-removalinstallation) ). NOTE: Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
- Measure the resistance between the audio unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 3 and No. 11 as specified in the table. TABLE RESISTANCE REFERENCE Button held down VOL DOWN VOL UP CH(-) CH(-B MODE (NONE) Resistance about 100 ohms about 357 ohms about 775 ohms about 1.7 kohms about 3.7 kohms about 10 kohms Is the resistance as specified? YES - Go to step 4. NO - Repair open or high resistance in the circuit between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel (see «CABLE REEL REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/airbag/#srs-supplemental-restraint-system) ).
- Check for continuity between body ground and the audio unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 3 and No. 11 individually. Is there continuity? YES - Repair short to body ground in the circuit between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel (see «CABLE REEL REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/airbag/#srs-supplemental-restraint-system) ). NO - Replace the audio unit (see «AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/entertainment-systems/#audio-system) ).
