Scheme 1
GENERATOR & FAN PULLEY
Belt tension is adjusted by adjuster. (Scheme 1) Measure tension using Burroughs belt tension gauge at midpoint between generator and cooling fan pulley. See SPECIFICATIONS. Tighten adjuster lock bolt to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m).
A/C COMPRESSOR
Belt tension is adjusted by adjuster. (Scheme 1) Measure tension using Burroughs belt tension gaugeat midpoint between crankshaft and A/C compressor. See SPECIFICATIONS. If A/C belt tension cannot be measured with tension gauge, depress belt with 22 lbs. (98 N) of force at midpoint between crankshaft and compressor.Belt deflection should be 0.472-0.315 inch. Tighten adjuster lock bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 N.m).
POWER STEERING
Belt tension is adjusted by adjuster. (Scheme 1) Measure tension using Burroughs belt tension gauge at midpoint (top of belt) between power steering pump and crankshaft. See SPECIFICATIONS. Tighten adjuster lock bolt to 30 ft. lbs. (46 N.m).
SPECIFICATIONS
Note. Belt tension specifications are measured using a Burroughs belt tension gauge.If A/C belt tension cannot be measured with tension gauge, depress belt with 22 lbs. (98 N) of force at midway point between crankshaft and compressor.Belt deflection should be 0.472-0.315 inch.
