Scheme 30
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (44P).
- Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals C3 and C4. Is there about 1.0 ohms or less? YES -Go to step 4. NO -Go to step 15 .
- Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector.
- At the throttle body side, measure the resistance between throttle body 6P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 6 with the throttle fully closed. Is there about 1.0 ohms or less? YES -Go to step 6. NO -Repair a short in the wires between the PCM C3 (ETCSM- line) and C4 (ETCSM+ line), then go to step 7 .
- Replace the throttle body (see «THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-513845-S33658369072012111600000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-513856-S30291526352012111600000) ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P2118 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-513870-S03062747232012111600000) .
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATE»(ref-513833-S16680197442012111600000) ), or substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-513832-S05425928872012111600000) ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P2118 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-513832-S05425928872012111600000) ), then go to step 17 . If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1 . NO -If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-513833-S05585841922012111600000) ). If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-513870-S03062747232012111600000) .
