Driver Position Memory System (Dpms): Other Acura MDX II facelift

  1. Remove the driver's seat (see «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510487-S39925743902012102300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the 2P connector from each power seat motor. NOTE: All connectors are terminal side of male terminals.
  3. Test each motor by connecting power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect battery power immediately.
  4. If the front up-down motor or rear up-down motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the faulty motor (see «FRONT SEAT LINKAGE DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY»(ref-510487-S42282690802012102300000) ).

If the slide motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the left seat track/slide motor (see FRONT SEAT LINKAGE DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).

Note. The slide motor is not available separately because it is assembled into the left seat track, refer to the seat linkage disassembly/reassembly (see FRONT SEAT LINKAGE DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).

Recline motor

  1. Remove the driver's seat (see «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510487-S39925743902012102300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the driver's seat wire harness 8P [14p] connector from the driver's seat subharness. []: With seat ventilation
  3. Test the motor by connecting power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect battery power immediately. []: With seat ventilation
  4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, check for an open in the wire between the 8P [14P] connector and recline motor. If the harness is OK, replace the recline motor (see «FRONT SEAT RECLINE MOTOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-510487-S18177212622012102300000) ).

  1. Remove the steering column covers (see «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510494-S27373242142012102300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the 13P connector (A) from the power tilt/telescopic steering switch (B).
  3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  1. Remove the steering column covers (see «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-510494-S27373242142012102300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector and 8P connector from the power tilt/telescopic steering motors.
  3. Check each motor by connecting power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect battery power immediately. TILT MOTOR: TELESCOPIC MOTOR
  4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly; replace the steering column assembly (see «STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-510435-S23199861522012102300000) ).
